The last couple of weekends has seen Team Vammus Racing hit the race track in preparation for the 2008 Canadian National Suzuki SV650 Cup
Championship.
On May 3rd and 4th the team attended the 2nd round of the RACE Super Series held at Shannonville Motorsports Park on the Nelson Circuit.
The weekend had a variety of weather including dry and wet track conditions. This was good for testing some suspension changes that the team
had been working on. The weekend was a success and Derek took an unchallenged SV650 class win leading the race from start to finish. In the
Middleweight Class Derek had to start from the 6th row as a result of missing the qualifying race. It was an incredible race as Derek cut
quickly through the filed, passing 20 riders, and eventually making it on the podium with a 3rd place finish.
In the following week, the team continued to develop the suspension with the help of John Sharrard and Accelerated Technologies. On May 10th, the
team attended the GOLO Racing Track Day held at Shannonville Motorsports Park on the Nelson Circuit. The day was spent sorting new suspension
changes to the race bike.
For 2008, the Canadian National Suzuki SV650 Cup Championship is once again an official support class in the Parts Canada Superbike Championship.
The opening round is coming up fast, this May 22nd to 24th. For 2008 the opening round will be at the brand new racing circuit Calabogie Motorsports
Park, located west of Ottawa. Stay in touch with Live timing and results which can be found on the Parts Canada Superbike Championship web site
www.cdnsuperbike.com.
The team would like to thank Rahul Dua and GoLo Racing for their great 'Hot Lap' Track Day. We would also like to welcome Hindle to the team as a
2008 Sponsor.
