Team Vammus Racing wrapped up the season with the RACE Superseries Finale held at Shannonville Motorsports Park.
The event was held on the Pro Track configuration. With late September weather being very unpredictable it was great to finish the season on a warm dry track.
In the Heavyweight class Derek showed well battling off Yamaha R1 Superbikes with his Ducati 848 to put it on the box with a 3rd place finish.
A mid season start in the National Thunder Class made it a bit difficult for the team to catch up to the factory teams. By the last National at Shannonville the team was proud to have Derek running as high as 5th place and mixing it up with the factory riders. In the final National race a poor gearing choice took some drive away from Derek's 848. Just the same Derek put in a great race and held off the factory BMW of Paul Glenn for an 8th place finish.
The team is looking forward to a new year in 2009 and after having some time on the 848 is expecting to be mixing it up with the Thunder Factory Teams all year long.
